Sartory Billard on Navy FKM Sailcloth: A Different Texture on the Wrist

Some of our favourite watch photographs are the ones taken during an ordinary day. Natural light, a close view of the wrist, and a few details that catch your attention.

This photograph of a Sartory Billard paired with our Navy FKM Sailcloth strap is one of them. The polished case catches the sunlight, the oversized numerals stand out against the dark dial, and the blue strap adds a softer, more relaxed feel to the combination.

Why Navy Works Here

Navy brings colour to this pairing without drawing too much attention away from the watch.

Close to the case, the strap looks deep and dark. Where the sunlight reaches it, the blue becomes more visible, along with the fine pattern across its surface. That variation gives the pairing a little movement: the same strap can look understated indoors and more colourful in daylight.

Against the polished metal and dark dial, it feels like a comfortable choice for everyday wear, while still holding its own alongside the watch’s distinctive design.

The Detail Is in the Texture

The sailcloth-inspired surface is especially clear in this photograph. Its repeating pattern adds another layer of detail beside the smooth case and dial.

There is plenty to look at on the watch itself, from the large numerals to the shape of the hands. The strap’s texture complements those features, while the matching blue stitching keeps the overall combination cohesive.

It is a small change in material that gives the watch a different mood on the wrist.

Made with Comfort in Mind

Our FKM Sailcloth straps combine a textured FKM exterior with a leather construction and Zermatt calf lining. Each strap is stitched by hand in our atelier, bringing familiar details from our leather straps to this collection.

The leather lining also matters when caring for the strap. Although the FKM exterior suits everyday splashes, the finished strap should be kept out of water during swimming or prolonged immersion.

Seeing a strap fitted to a watch is always different from looking at it on its own. Here, the Navy colour, matching stitching and sailcloth texture come together beautifully—a pairing we are very happy to see out in the world.
