A Contemporary Material for an Unconventional Timepiece
Some watches are designed to follow tradition. Others are created to challenge it.
The M.A.D.2 belongs firmly to the second category — a timepiece that transforms the way we think about displaying time, combining mechanical creativity with a bold and futuristic aesthetic.
For this unique piece, our client was looking for a strap that could complement the watch’s distinctive character while maintaining a refined and understated presence.
The choice was black Alcantara.
Material Note — A Different Expression of Black
Black is often considered the most versatile color in watch straps, but not every black creates the same impression.
Traditional leather brings elegance and heritage. Alcantara introduces something different — a softer, more contemporary texture with a subtle technical character.
Its matte surface creates a beautiful contrast against the polished case and the deep black dial, allowing the architecture of the M.A.D.2 to remain the focus.
Rather than adding more visual complexity, the material creates balance.
Details That Connect the Watch and Strap
The M.A.D.2 is defined by its dramatic red elements, which immediately capture attention.
To echo this signature detail, we created a custom red and black two-tone hand saddle stitch.
The black thread disappears naturally into the Alcantara surface, while the red stitching adds a subtle connection to the watch’s dial.
It is not a direct color match, but a conversation between details.
A small touch that brings the entire composition together.
